History of the Foundation
The Doorway to Health Foundation
is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2001 by CenCal Health to address health access issues of uninsured and under-insured residents of Santa Barbara County.
- Vision: To maximize the health of all Santa Barbara County residents.
- Mission: To improve access to health care, improve the quality of health care and achieve a healthy community.
- Goal: To develop programs to provide affordable comprehensive health care for the under-served, uninsured, and under-insured in Santa Barbara County.

A strategy of cross-sector collaboration over the past nine years has resulted in a dramatic decrease in the number and percentage of uninsured children in Santa Barbara County.
